Why the New Games Page Is Short
Other game portals treat their new arrivals feed like a shipping manifest. Titles pile up, the list scrolls forever, and the sheer volume is supposed to imply freshness. QuilPlay does the opposite. Most games submitted by providers and developers never make it onto the site. The new games page is short on purpose — it reflects what a curator deliberately chose, not what was offered.
The Rejection Rate Tells the Story
For every title added, several more are turned away. Some get rejected because the controls feel wrong on a trackpad. Some because the sound loops become unlistenable after five minutes. Some because the art is polished but the gameplay loop has no second act. And some because the title is a near-clone of something already in the catalog and does not add anything new.
This filter is part of why a recent addition like Purrrification can sit next to a more established title like Geometry Dash 3D on equal footing. Recency is not a proxy for quality here — the newest arrivals are held to the same standard as the games that have been on the site for a year.
Genre Balance in New Arrivals
Providers do not submit games in a balanced genre mix. Some months it is all idle and tycoon games. Other months, platformer submissions dominate. The editorial team deliberately balances what reaches the new games page so that the section is not a wall of one genre. If racing submissions are thin, we wait for the right racing title rather than padding the list. If puzzle submissions are plentiful, we still cap how many go live at once so that other categories are not starved of attention.
Discovery depends on variety. A new arrivals page full of twenty tycoon games is not a useful new arrivals page, no matter how many of them are individually good. The goal is for a visitor arriving here to leave having bookmarked something outside their usual genre.
How often are new games added to QuilPlay?
New titles appear multiple times per week. The exact cadence varies with submission quality rather than a publishing schedule — a slow week is better than a padded week.
Are recently added games available on mobile?
Most new games are tested for mobile compatibility before they go live. Any title with known device limitations is flagged in its description so you know before you click through.
Why are there sometimes only a few games on this page?
Because that is all we added recently. When fewer titles meet the bar in a given week, the page stays short. That is a feature, not a gap — it reflects the editorial filter working as intended.
